Hello again... sewing selfishly

Good day  

I have gotten back to sewing a but just for me.  I will be sewing selfishly for right now.  I have done some alterations.  Fixed hems in skirts, suit pants.  Some have lost weight so they need clothes taken in and others like me need favorite clothing made a bit bigger.   But other doing repairs any that I sew will be for me. 

I have a treasure trove of fabric, so it is time to make an endless wardrobe of clothing.  I will wear them three time and then give away, sell or donate.  

S2372 is a favorite pattern of mine.  I have used it repeatedly to the point that I purchased another pattern because I ruin the original pattern.  I will have to take the time to trace this one so I can keep it longer. 

I had this blue knit fabric, it has to be 6 years old or older, that could not give away.  Oh, I had people ask for it but I kept saying I needed it, so I decided to use it.   I chose to make that in short sleeve dress from the S2372 pattern.  The fabric is a bit too thick for the hot summer, but I felt that it was just right for this time of year when it is hot outside, but the AC is too cold.    It can carry over into the winter with a jacket or sweater with no problem.  

It is a plain blue dress and I love it. 

My dress from is skinny so I will have feed her for the next project but the way it fit me was just fine. 

Logan has a beautiful smile and she reminded me of my daughter Domonique so I had to take a picture with her.  

 I fell victim to TikTok influence and just had to purchase this beautiful print.  The Silhouette of the black girl with Big Fro and big gold hoops. Permanent mark from my teen years.  I was not ever able to create the look for myself but I loved it when I saw it.   

I felt it should a  kimono or duster.  

This was created from the dress pattern S2372 with the sleeves from the jacket.  Doesn't it look great with dress, shirt and leggings, a whole host of outfits.   Look at all the colors that will work with it.  This will a hard to part with.  

It was a great three days surrounded by like-minded people.  I feel happy and secure when we attend the different conventions.   This year's regional convention was called Exercise Patience this is right on time. 

I have looked at some fashion shows on youtube and I see  Schiaparelli influence some of the runway looks.  This picture is a favorite of mine. 

Just imagine sleeve similar to this on a silky baseball jacket.  

This may be my august project.
